To ensure the development of a superior credit card product, our team embarked on an extensive market research journey. We left no stone unturned, exploring not only domestic players but also renowned international apps such as American Express, Chase, and Capitol One. Our aim was to understand the best practices and innovative features offered by these industry leaders, enabling us to create a truly exceptional credit card experience.
To gain valuable insights into credit card usage, we conducted user interviews with a diverse range of individuals, including both employees and salaried professionals. By asking pertinent questions about their onboarding experience, length of credit card usage, preferred card usage scenarios, and their expectations for offers and rewards, we were able to uncover a wealth of valuable information. Through this process, we engaged with over 450 individuals, capturing their perspectives on credit card usage, non-usage, and the factors that influence their decision-making.
Using the insights gathered from our user interviews, we employed an affinity mapping technique to organize and categorize the information effectively. By carefully analyzing the answers provided by our interviewees, we were able to identify common themes and patterns. These themes were then grouped into key areas such as Rewards, Cashbacks & Offers, Credit Limit, Flexibility in Payment, and Spend Analysis. This approach allowed us to derive meaningful and actionable insights, enabling us to create a feature matrix that would address the needs and desires of our target audience.
The feature matrix we developed represents the culmination of our research and analysis. By assigning priority levels to each feature, we ensured that the most crucial aspects of the Payzapp Credit Card were given the attention they deserved. Through careful consideration and weighing of factors, we identified key areas that would have the greatest impact on the overall user experience.
Among the features that received the highest priority were "About Card," which encompassed comprehensive and transparent information about the credit card itself. This feature aimed to provide users with a clear understanding of the card's benefits, fees, and terms. Additionally, "Card Security" emerged as a top priority, reflecting the significance users place on robust security measures to safeguard their financial transactions.
Furthermore, the "Card Limits" feature was identified as an essential aspect of the Payzapp Credit Card. By offering flexible credit limits tailored to individual users' financial circumstances, we aimed to provide a sense of empowerment and control over their spending. Finally, the inclusion of an "Add-on Card" feature was also highlighted as a significant aspect, enabling users to extend the benefits of the Payzapp Credit Card to their family members or trusted individuals.
